A Summer of More and Less

I blinked and then it was the end of August.

But, to back up…there has been a lot of yoga, a lot of training and letting go over the past few months.  And, it has been a time of bounty.

More specifically, I completed my remaining requirements to hold myself out as a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance.  This was a big goal for me and I’m so incredibly proud of this recognition!

I also took Aerial Yoga Teacher Training with Tana Martin in June and I’m nearly finished with my apprenticeship (three more hours to go!).

Interspersed along the way, I have been studying Thai Bodywork with Eleanor Bramwell.  I still have to complete my apprentice hours which I was saving to do after I finished up with the Aerial hours.  I’m really looking forward to integrating this work into my teaching.

And, there has been a lot of teaching which is been fantastic.  Because of summer vacations, I have had the opportunity to fill in for my co-teachers at the studio and teach classes that I normally don’t.  It is an honor to be asked and I always feel very broadened by the experience.

Finally, there has been some letting go which has been truly wonderful.  You know how it is when you hold onto something for a long time “just in case”?  I have done a lot of this, but I’m doing it less and less.  I have been letting go of possessions (still a long way to go) and more importantly, letting go of many things that were taking up my energy.  It all allows me to have better energy and focus when there are simply fewer things needing and deserving my attention.

And, so, as I look back over the last few months, I see a changed person:  someone happier with less and willing to go deeper into what is happening right now.  Namaste — Arlene
